Hello! My name is Andrew Berens, and I have worked in informatics, data analysis, and data management since 2013. I obtained certificates in geographic information sciences alongside both my Bachelor of Science in Geography (Arizona State University, Class of 2013) and my Master of Science in Geosciences (Georgia State University, Class of 2016). In 2020 I became a certified geographic information systems professional (GISCI certification number: 160724).
I have worked as a public sector consultant and a full-time government employee at both the state and federal levels conducting quantitative analyses, building and maintaining enterprise-scale IT systems, and producing quality public data portals. In those roles I shared my expertise with scientists across five countries, worked 10 emergency response activations, and managed over a dozen analysts.
I have taught multiple graduate and undergraduate courses in GIS and data analytics at Georgia State University and Louisiana State University Health Science Center. Throughout my career I have worked with a wide range of software including Esri's ArcGIS, Salesforce, R, Python, Stata, SAS, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Azure, MS Office, and Adobe products. I've led or assisted in cloud migrations, modernization efforts, and large scale system upgrades. I have a strong project management background and a track record of delivering on-time and under budget.
